Treat myself or save the money?

This month, I will get an extra paycheck. This is because of the way our paydays fall, we get paid every 2 weeks. I just bought a new house (brand new!) and the mortgage will start in December with the first payment being around $1000.

There are so many things I need to buy… ok..wait…I WANT to buy for the new house like furniture, lighting, accessories, an LCD tv and such. I don’t necessarily need to buy them. The yard needs some landscaping and a fence for my dog so he can run.

My old house hasn’t sold yet (UGH…I just fired my realtor and got a new one) but when it does and if I can get a good price for it, it will help me pay off a credit card (I used it to pay off Bank of America, they ticked me off), I got a better APR than I had. I also have a thrift loan at work that I used for a down payment on my new house. The thrift is auto-deducted from my paycheck. The credit card I’m paying above the minimum each month.

Please, serious responses only.
2 great answers already. I’ve given them both thumbs up!

JB, the bills at the new house and old one are current it’s just that I could use the extra money to get ahead and stay ahead. Thanks for your comments.
All good answers, everyone gets thumbs up. The majority has spoken to save the extra $$$. I concur, thanks all!

If my relative sent me a check from out of state how do I cash it?

I bank at Community America Credit union, will they cash an out of state two party personal check? What if I don’t have the money in my account to cover it, I know it is good.
will they put a long hold on it?
I don’t want to use one of those payday loan places that charge large fees.
No not bounced. I know sometimes if you don’t have enough money in your account to cover a check you are trying to cash they won’t cash it. So if I have like $200 in my account and I try to cash my Aunts check to me for $500, they would bounce checks I wrote on it until the hold is up and the check clears. I heard they clear electronically now pretty fast so holds aren’t normally so long.

What exactly are the more Puzzling Aspects of the US national Debt?

Aside from the Astronomical Mind-boggling amount that is growing forever….

I have a few that I have culled from various sources across the Web and a few from watching TV.

(From CBS.com, from their segment of ‘Debt in America’) that alleges that the national Debt (AT LEAST:, i figure, the segment that is made up of 30-day bonds, and some that is a portion of 6-month bonds coming mature, yet the segment alludes to ALL the DEBT!) is periodically, COMPLETELY PAID OFF!!!!, and then…. re-issued again,in a sort of revolving payday loan. There was a gentleman in the CBS Segment, that says that the US has NEVER missed a debt obligation. Interesting, and I wonder if any of you have any comment to this, or at least some insight…

(From, a second-hand source, that quotes the Federal Reserve Website) that 90% of everything the “Fed” Collects (in the form of payments and fees) goes RIGHT BACK TO THE GOVERNMENT COFFERS. Ninety Percent…! think of all the TRILLIONS the “Fed” Plays with or monitors…

My question IS…if 90% of the FED earnings go right back to government coffers…why do we need to keep revolving a national debt?!

There is something fishy going on around here…Yes. I know the first place to look is Congress…because in the constitution it says that “Congress shall COIN money and regulate the value thereof.”

Now the the whole system, in my honest opinion, revolves around the definition of “COIN” Does “Coin” Mean ONLY “stamp bits of metal into currency” or can it also mean “create” as in the term “to coin a phrase?”

Perhaps getting the Correct Answers or insightful replies to these questions and ideas may, to quote Jesus, “Take the beam out of our eyes to see clear enough to pull the speck out of our brothers.”

Well, here it is….what do you think, what do you know, what can you surmise?

And please…No Perez Hilton style behavior in your replies…that man just put the Gay/Lesbian community in a horrible light with his actions/behavior, specifically calling Ms. California a “c-nt”

Please look at those that surround you or who you identify with. What kind of respect would you think those who surround you or you identify with like to be treated? ACT RESPONSIBLY, please, thank you, and I await your good repsonses.

When asked about Barack Obama’s achievements and qualifications for President?

Why do his supporters rattle out this list and feel that it’s a big enough “Gotcha” to back everyone off?

So he’s been involved in organizations and a member of multiple committees. What way does he qualify to LEAD A COUNTRY? This isn’t about McCain, and it isn’t about me. If you can’t answe the question respectfully and truthfully without making it about someone else, don’t bother. Answer the actual question. If Obama hasn’t led anything and has only been a part of the crowd all this time and wouldn’t even go up against his own party in for any real issue (as admitted by him at the debate), how is he going to get an entire country (not to mention Congress) behind him? Do you care?
